Hey, everybody, this is David Chudyk, and welcome to our Thanksgiving episode of the weekly Wealth Podcast. I think it's so important to be purposefully thankful every day.
So I thought it would be fun this week to ask some listeners, ask some friends, ask some colleagues to record a quick audio clip to tell us what they are thankful for. I hope that this is as moving for you as it was for me to listen to. All right, here we go. Welcome to the weekly wealth podcast.
I am certified financial planner David Chudyk. This podcast and my wealth management practice are both designed to help the mass affluent to live better lives by how they handle their money.
We talk about financial strategies, prosperous mindsets, and simply how to build true wealth. So come on and let's enjoy this journey together.
This episode is being released around Thanksgiving in 2024, and I think it's just so important for us to constantly count our blessings.
One of the things that I did when our kids were little and growing up is when we were putting them to bed, we played the thankful game every night and we would talk about what we're thankful for. And oftentimes our kids, depending on their age, they may have been thankful for ice cream or just something small.
And I think that just put a really great foundation in our family to consciously be than thankful. So I wanted to talk about some of the things that I'm thankful for. Now. These will be in no particular order except for the first one.
So the first one is the one that I'm most thankful for, and that is that I got to celebrate 25 years of marriage with my beautiful wife Jill. So if you don't believe in miracles, just imagine that anybody could spend 25 years with me. And there is your proof that miracles do exist.
I'm really thankful for is I changed how I eat in 2024 and I've lost a good bit of weight and have you ever maybe put on a few pounds and it happens so slowly that you don't realize it? Well, that happened to me. So I'm back down to a weight that's really good for me.
I feel much better and I feel like my health is improved, my mobility is improved, and I'm just a better person. I'm thankful that my oldest son is a senior at the University of South Carolina and will be graduating with a triple in this spring.
And I'm also thankful for my twins that are high school seniors and they both have excelled academically with top honors. So really thankful and proud of my three children.
I'm thankful for the amazing team of people around me that help with our business and help us to serve clients. I'm very thankful that I get to make a living by helping people to make smart choices by how they handle their money, and that is a privilege.
I have a men's group, and I'm so thankful that we get to get together on Friday mornings and also one evening or so per month, and we get to support each other, we get to have Bible study, and we get to just be there for each other and help each other through this journey that we call life. Our family has been involved in the same church for 20 years now, and I'm very thankful for our church and the support that it gives us.
Many of you who know me, you know that there have been some health challenges around my family, and I'm very thankful that my health has held up, because health is very important to our qualities of life. So these are some things that I am thankful for.
And I asked some of my friends, some of my colleagues, some of my co workers, some of my clients to make a short audio clip telling what they're thankful for. And I found it fascinating and interesting and even moving on some level.
So I hope that you enjoy all of these recordings and don't forget to tell the people around you what you're thankful for.
